That’s right, the Brooklyn Nets did what the :
- OKC
- Wizards
- Wolves
- Hawks
- 76ers
- Knicks
- Spurs
- Hawks (again)
- Cavs
- Pistons
- Bulls
- Pacers (2x)
- Nets (didn’t count)
- Wolves (again)
COULDN’T DO ! And that was end the Raptors 15 game winning streak. Not only did they end it, but it came at the most opportune time – last game for both teams before heading into the All Star Break. Take that Toronto, go back to Canada and think about that L for the next 8 days! Oh you don’t care? You just won the Championship? Well guess what, come THESE playoffs, Gentrified BK and all its baby strollers, will be the last thing you and every one else in this League, will want to visit and see. (This of course does not include the Milwaukee Bucks who may be the best team Or whoever comes out of the West) But yea, I’ll SAY IT, the Nets can potentially be the most dangerous team in the Playoffs!
And I feel confident about that. Especially after witnessing a healthy Caris LeVert, who’s seems to finally be getting over the injury bug that’s kept him out 25 games. Averaging 17.5ppg and about 4.5 assist over the last 8, while the team has gone 6 – 2. More importantly, LeVert has taken the load off Dinwiddie, as another scoring option. No longer is the 4th quarter offensive strategy to give Dinwiddie the ball, rely on him to score, while every one stands around and watches. Having LeVert, as a second option, spaces the floor for guys like Joe Harris, DeAndre Jordan, Jared Allen & Temple/Prince to contribute. As was evident last night with the infectious ball movement. Oh and did I mention, this spark has come while Kyrie has been MIA with his own injury???
And shut up, any one who thinks this style of play can’t continue when he returns. There is no doubt he can comeback and seamlessly fit with this improved team. I’d like to believe Kenny Atkins is a good enough coach to handle 3 scorers. He’s already convince Dinwiddie to share the scoring rock with LeVert. Last night was a prime example, Dinwiddie led the team with 9 assist and only took 13 shots in 34 minutes of play. That’s impressive for a guy coming off a win, against the Pacers, where he scored 21pts and hit the game winner. Not to mention, also heading to All Star Weekend to represent the team in the SKILLS competition.
So here’s to beating the pesty Raptors and snapping their cute 15 game win streak. Let hope they ride this momentum after ASB and come into the playoffs feeling dangerous.
